You Will Never Walk Alone

A theme much addressed when I recommend deciding on a travel destination and packing a suitcase is that of loneliness, of traveling alone. Few in fact imagine themselves sitting at a table in a restaurant alone or taking pictures alone (a plethora of selfies). Even fewer imagine talking and chatting with their seat neighbor on an airplane or being alone in a hotel room at night. I understand that all these situations are very different from what you are normally used to, but why exclude it out of hand, without having given yourself the chance to try it at least once in your life? Isn't this an opportunity to move out of your comfort zone and thus move your limits further?

What will surprise you the most will be to discover that there are so many people like you, also on a journey, looking to share their journey and their next plans with someone, willing to listen to your story your dreams and learn more about your culture and country of origin. Maybe friendships will be born that last forever, maybe instead you will never see those people again but at that particular moment they gave you a lot--everything you needed.

Be that as it may, the in contri on the road are covered with quite special nuances, because they are born amid lighthearted chatter in places where one is more predisposed to be oneself, beyond the routine of routine and stress.

You will also discover that you have a special friend, always with you, who will never abandon you: YOURSELF. Discovering that you "suffice" yourself and that you can give yourself an open and sincere dialogue between you and you is fundamental to being able to be well with others: if you are well with yourself you will value friendship more and give more and unselfishly.

Give yourself a trip to share with yourself, indulge in a friendship born by chance in the hostel, never forget that your best friend is YOU.

Loneliness is an unfounded fear of those who have not yet tried to open their hearts to the world.
